ContextThe beneficiariesWhether they are banana-sellers, grocers, or sari-makers, the beneficiaries of our programmes receive different types of services which allow them to improve their living conditions little by little and to take in hand their future and that of their children. The average loan amount is 127€, reimbursable in approximately 4 months. The repayment rate currently stands at more than 96%. In one year, a family manages to save more than 20€ to 30€. It is often the first time the family is able to save. Areas of operationBe they urban zones such as Manila, Accra, Kolkatta, or rural zones such as northern Haiti, the areas where we operate all have an extremely low standards of living. The average daily income per capita stands between 1 to 3 €, depending on the country. Housing is very densely populated, unhealthy and hygiene conditions are practically inexistent; such living conditions breed violence, prostitution … Our partnersWhenever it is possible, we identify partners who share our principles and we offer them active support to develop their operations. In other cases, we establish ventures directly and foster the emergence of a local institution around the project. |
