Strengthening climate resilience and economic autonomy in rural communities in Gbêkê

Founded in 2020, the EKILEKO association offers a range of services to vulnerable smallholder farmers, 80% of whom are women:

  • Inclusive finance: creation of village savings and credit groups enabling people who are excluded from traditional financial channels to secure their savings, access microcredit, and finance their economic activities.
  • Training in inclusive agroecology: crop rotation, soil management, agroforestry, composting, resistant seeds, etc.
  • Access to productive equipment: a solar-powered cassava processing platform and equipment (refrigerators, freezers).
  • Access to sales outlets: marketing of the platform’s production supported by a sector manager who facilitates access to buyers for small-scale producers.
