My name is Marie Maude Compère Joseph, I am 42 years old, and I am an entrepreneur and nurse. Originally from Les Cayes, I grew up surrounded by my family, with a desire to succeed and thrive professionally. After working as a nurse in a mobile clinic, I quickly realized that I also wanted to develop my own business to ensure a better future for my family.
My launch into entrepreneurship
In 2016, on the advice of a sister in my congregation, I opened a soft drink warehouse. Little by little, I diversified the business by adding food and cosmetics. To take it further, I invested in a mill to help locals process their grains. But with the economic crisis and competition, it was difficult to ensure stable profitability. My husband, also an entrepreneur, supported me in this venture, but I needed financial backing to grow my business.

In 2023, I joined PMS and obtained my first loan of HTG 50,000 (€360). Thanks to successive refinancing, my loan increased to HTG 85,000 (€615), allowing me to expand my stock and better structure my business.
The PMS training courses were essential. I learned how to manage my money better, calculate my profits, and plan my investments. Before, I spent money without really controlling my finances. Today, my income has tripled, and I can save regularly.
