Focus areas

Entrepreneurs du Monde works in five key areas to meet the basic needs of people living in precarious situations: economic inclusion, clean energy, sustainable agriculture, gender equality, and climate adaptation. These actions contribute directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Concrete responses to major development challenges

Our commitment is based on a strong conviction: reducing poverty in a sustainable way requires a comprehensive approach.

Vulnerable people face multiple and interrelated challenges: economic insecurity, limited access to energy, food insecurity, climate vulnerability, and gender inequality. To address these challenges, Entrepreneurs du Monde implements integrated programs based on proven solutions adapted to local realities.

Our work aims to empower people to start businesses, acquire equipment, grow crops, make decisions, protect themselves, and more—all independently.

Taking action for the Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by the UN in 2015, set a collective course for building a fairer and more sustainable future by 2030.

Each program we develop contributes to several of these goals. Our five areas of action enable us to take action on:

SDG 1 – No poverty
SDG 2 – Zero hunger
SDG 4 – Quality education
SDG 5 – Gender equality
SDG 7 – Affordable and clean energy
SDG 8 – Decent work and economic growth
SDG 10 – Reduced inequalities
SDG 13 – Climate action
SDG 17 – Partnerships for the goals

Our approach is systemic: each area of action is designed to reinforce the others. For example, access to clean energy facilitates entrepreneurship, which enables women to gain autonomy while reducing the environmental impact of economic activities

A cross-cutting and supportive approach

Our areas of action are not compartmentalized: they feed into and reinforce each other.

A micro-entrepreneur equipped with a solar panel can produce and sell more.
A farmer trained in agroecology improves her income while feeding her family healthily.
A young woman supported in entrepreneurship develops her financial and social independence.

This systemic, local, and inclusive approach is at the heart of Entrepreneurs du Monde’s DNA.
