Palmis Eneji
Palmis Eneji facilitates access to clean, sustainable, and affordable cooking and lighting solutions, thereby improving the health, finances, and environment of vulnerable families.
Haitians are in an extremely vulnerable situation: endemic economic and health poverty, climate disasters, a dysfunctional state, and extreme gang violence.
They also suffer from dramatic energy insecurity, which makes their living and working conditions very difficult: without access to gas, they use charcoal, which is expensive and causes fatigue, harmful fumes, and the collapse of forest cover (3.5% of the country today). And without access to electricity, they use flashlights, candles, and kerosene lamps, which are dangerous and provide very poor lighting.
Access to energy for the most vulnerable
Entrepreneurs du Monde created PALMIS ENEJI in 2012 for people living in energy poverty. It facilitates their access to energy-efficient, clean, and modern cooking and lighting equipment. These solar lighting kits and gas or charcoal stoves have a very positive impact on the health, budget, and environment of these vulnerable people.
