Ali Badjam – Farmer Tchébébé
Today, I look to the future with confidence. My goal is to expand my farm and further develop my livestock operations so that I can continue to improve my family’s standard of living.
My name is Ali Badjam. I am 36 years old, married, and the father of three children, all of whom are in school. I live in Tchébébé, where I was born and raised. After having to interrupt my university studies due to lack of funds, I turned to
farming to provide for my family. Before joining the Ekofoda program, I lacked technical knowledge in vegetable farming and livestock raising. I faced many challenges, particularly related to soil fertility, pests, and diseases in my livestock operation.
Build my skills to grow my business.
Thanks to agroecology, I have increased my crop yields and income. Since 2023, through the Ekofoda program, I have gained skills in agroecological farming and improved livestock management. I have also benefited from
technical support and easier access to agricultural microcredit. Today, I grow vegetables, raise improved chicken breeds, and produce grains such as corn, sorghum, and rice. This support has enabled me to improve my techniques and better manage my farm.
Improve my income and my family's health
Since joining the program, my production has increased and my income has been gradually improving. I no longer face major difficulties in my work. Another significant change concerns my family’s health: we now consume products free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, which has reduced illnesses among my children. Today, I look to the future with confidence. My goal is to expand my farm and further develop my livestock operations to continue improving my family’s living conditions.
