Comfort – Merchant in Liberia

My business, located next to my husband's, now allows us to pay for our four children's education and even buy land to build our house. My dream is to open a large store in Palala. I continue to save money and put the advice I learned from ELILI training into practice to achieve this goal.

My name is Comfort M. Vah, I am 32 years old and I live in Palala, Bong County, with my husband and our four children: Alice (13), Samuel (9), Mary (7) and Prince (6). I am an entrepreneur and a member of the ELILI program. I joined ELILI in 2023 with an initial loan that enabled me to transform my small door-to-door doughnut business into a market stall. Thanks to my rigorous repayment schedule, I was able to access a second loan of 90,000 LRD (€433), increase my rice stock from 5 to 60 bags, and expand my product range (flour, oil, eggs, tea, etc.).

Growing through savings and training

Thanks to my business, my family lives better and I have been able to send my four children to school, while investing in our home. ELILI taught me how to save and manage my business effectively. Today, I am proud to see my business thrive and have big plans for the future.

A tangible impact on my family
