Lomé Regional Workshop 2014

Lomé Regional Workshop 2014

26 June 2017

Entrepreneurs du Monde is organising a 5-day workshop in Lomé with its partners, to share best practice with its individual liability group methodology

Over 50 participants from four continents

From 19 to 23 May 2014, Entrepreneurs du Monde will bring together in Lomé, Togo, a dozen of its partner organisations from Africa, Asia and Haiti to work together on the theme of “Responding to the needs of the most vulnerable using the individual liability group methodology”.

The association regularly organises such meetings in its areas of operation, in order to facilitate sharing of best practice between partners. Indeed, the main aim of the initiative is to promote collaboration between these local organisations from different areas.

Individual liability group methodology

This microfinance methodology that Entrepreneurs du Monde uses in its own programmes and also promotes to its partners is the key theme of the meeting. It is innovative, targeting the development of people and their skills as well as lasting improvement of the living conditions of families, and has become a reference for other microfinance institutions and public bodies.

Experience sharing, expert speakers and field visits

The week will include presentations by partners sharing their practices, talks by expert speakers and group discussions on subjects such as adapting the methodology to the local circumstances, management tools, risk management, group dynamics and client protection.

Field visits are also planned. These will allow participants to meet the team behind and the beneficiaries of the social microfinance programme set up by Entrepreneurs du Monde since 2011.

Summaries of these exchanges and the practical tools resulting from them will be put online after the workshop on the openly accessible Pratiques Microfinance platform.
